Wyatt Flores offered a glimpse into his life and his journey in music — including how he balances his life with his career — when he joined brothers and podcast hosts Dan and Reid Isbell on a recent episode of God’s Country.
The rising singer-songwriter and musician, 23, joined the Isbell brothers for a “heart-to-heart” discussion, including about his debut album and the pressures and imposter syndrome along the way. Flores released his 14-track collection, Welcome To The Plains, on October 18. The Oklahoma-born artist said when he announced his debut album that it’s a project “about home and a search for happiness. It’s the stories of my life, my family, and the people and places in my life who have defined who I am today. It feels like these last three years have been building up to this music.”
The Isbell brothers said Flores is “awesome and so wise beyond his years it’s unbelievable.” They hailed the rising star “an old soul, hysterical, and may have been inspired by the movie Cars when writing his most recent album 😂. The new project is killer and hope y’all enjoy this episode. We had a blast and thanks for hanging Wyatt.”
“In this week’s episode, Reid and Dan Isbell sit down with Nashville’s breakout artist Wyatt Flores. Together, they dive into Wyatt’s journey over the past 18 months—from life on the road to running a cattle ranch funded through his merch sales. Wyatt shares candid stories about his connection to fishing, the impact of his grandfather’s passing, and the mental toll of balancing music and life. In this heart-to-heart, Reid, Dan, and Wyatt discuss resilience, connection, and the unique challenges of making a life in the music world.”
Dan and Reid — who have written music for Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, Scotty McCreery, Jon Pardi, Lainey Wilson and others — started their weekly podcast this year. Guests appearing on the show so far include HARDY, Dustin Lynch, Colbie Caillat and others.
“One of our favorite things about country music has always been how intertwined it is with the outdoors,” Dan and Reid Isbell said in a statement when God’s Country launched. They hope to “bring the outdoor enthusiast or country music lover an up close and personal look into the minds of some of the best songwriters and artists of the genre — a place where they can be honest about struggles, relationships, their connection to the outdoors, the music business, family, whatever they feel comfortable talking about. We can’t wait to see where this partnership will lead and who this podcast will reach.”
