Miranda Lambert kicked off the day with the best surprise… The award-winning country music trailblazer released the official music video for “Strange” on Tuesday morning (October 11), deeming it “a celebration of the return to live music after being in such strange times.”

Lambert takes the stage with her guitar, wearing a stunning dress and cowboy boots as she begins to perform the song in front of a packed crowd. The video chronicles several live performances, meet-and-greets and backstage moments.

“Strange” was one of the first songs to release from Palomino, Lambert’s 15-track project that released in April. Lambert — who recently kicked off her epic Las Vegas Residency, Velvet Rodeo — began writing Palomino at her farm in the spring of 2020, meeting with her cowriters in a wide open space outside of Nashville. She teamed up to co-produce the album and co-write 14 of the 15 tracks on the project. The highly-anticipated album also included “Actin’ Up,” “Geraldene,” “Tourist,” “If I Was A Cowboy” and other fan-favorites. Lambert released “Strange” in March, when she announced her album release date. She promised at that time that the record would take listeners “on a journey through songs. I hope y’all are ready to travel with us wandering spirits and meet some cool characters with great stories.”

Palomino takes fans on a cross-country journey with 36 destinations along the way. Lambert played some of her latest songs and some “oldies but goodies” during an exclusive iHeartCountry LIVE show at her Nashville bar, Casa Rosa, in April. She said at that time that her latest body of work feels like “freedom,” and hopes it inspires listeners to “get in your car and drive. If you have a gypsy spirit, just go do it.”
