DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL - A Texas doughnut chain with 250 locations in the Southeast U.S. said it plans to expand into Colorado.
Shipley Do-Nuts said it will open its first franchise location in the state this year and "plans to expand to 58 units throughout Colorado in the coming years."
Houston-based Shipley was founded in 1936 and said it will bring hundreds of new jobs to Colorado.
"We are absolutely thrilled to bring our famous Shipley Do-Nuts to Colorado... We are excited to add over 800 jobs to the state of Colorado," said Lawrence Shipley III, CEO of Shipley Do-Nuts, in a statement.
Shipley will find competition in Colorado: Krispy Kreme has three Colorado locations, including one on Denver's 16th Street Mall.
