You may recall that Dolly Parton turned down Elvis Presley's request to record "I Will Always Love You" back in the '70s. He demanded 50% of the song's royalties, and she said no thank you.
That was huge because HIS estate would've ended up owning one-half of the song that Whitney Houston spun into Platinum some 20 years later.
Well, here's another interesting twist to that story. During her recent interview with the BBC, Dolly revealed a connection between the song and Elvis's 1973 divorce from Priscilla Presley.
Quote, "I talked to Priscilla not very long ago. She said to me, 'You know, Elvis sang that song to me when we walked down the courthouse steps when we got divorced. He was singing to me 'I Will Always Love You'."
