Dan + Shay hinted at an epic new era as they offered an explanation for their recent social media hiatus on Tuesday evening (March 21). The award-winning country duo posted a photo on Instagram, sharing that they “wanted to check in and let y’all know we’re alive.”

“We’ve been spending every single day in the studio working on a new album that we can’t wait for you to hear,” Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney shared in their caption. “The last 10 years have been the most incredible ride thanks to your support, so we feel the responsibility to bring you our best work yet. We’ve written songs, recorded songs, written more songs, recorded more songs, and feel so good about how things are shaping up. As soon as it’s ready, you’ll be the first to know.

“Thank y’all so much for being patient with us while we prepare for the next chapter,” Dan + Shay added later. “It truly means the world. Stay tuned for more updates soon!”

The upcoming project from Dan + Shay follows their latest full-length album, Good Things, which made its debut in August 2021. The 12-track collection included the title track, “Steal My Love,” “You,” “Lying,” “Glad You Exist,” “10,000 Hours” and other fan-favorites. Since then. Dan + Shay have also released holiday singles and an acoustic version of “You,” in addition to teasing new music (including a possible collaboration with pop giant Charlie Puth).
